Popeye's Superfood

Day 9-Spinach
Serving Suggestions:1 cup steamed and 2 cups raw most days
  • popeye gets his energy from the Vitamin B in spinach
  • it also has lots of minerals like calcium and iron, Vitamin C and E, and omega 3's
  • Good source of CoQ10, which works with vitamin C and E to be an amazing antioxidant. 
  • studies shows it helps prevent types of cancers, cardiovascular disease, and even cataracts. 
  •  
How To Eat
  • eat both raw and cooked because raw you get more vitamin C and folates while eating raw gets you more caretonoids like beta-carotene.  
  • make sure you are washing your spinach well because it tends to hold sand
  • I like spinach with my eggs or in an omellete
  • Substitute spinach as your greens in a salad
  • I cook up spinach with minced garlic, olive oil, and cayenne pepper 
  • put spinach in your sandwiches
