Why I love my iwatch as a fitness tracker
I love my iWatch as a Fitness Tracker
There are many reasons why I love my new iwatch, especially for fitness purposes. Here I am going to almost give a summary / review of the iwatch and what I have discovered as its fitness capabilities and even how it works with Beachbody On Demand.
1. HR Monitor: I am starting with this aspect because it was something I thought I didn't need in a fitness tracker/smartwatch. I thought to myself, well if I have a higher HR , I would know it. But now that I have it, I use it way more than I thought. I love it during workouts because it helps you accurately account for the calories you are losing. I have compared it to the HR on the treadmill and they are similar readings to each other.
2. "The Activity" app: So this is the main place the iwatch tracks and displays your calories burned, steps walked, minutes worked out in the day, and how many hours out of 12 that you have stood for at least 1 minutes. It is all in one place in a very eye pleasing display. You can chose to set goals for each statistic, you can customize the watch face so that the summary of your activity is shown along with the time, and you can open the app on the watch and phone to see all the in-depth information. It is all in one place, easy to access, and easy to read. When you are in the gym, going for a walk, or doing some other workout, you can click the app that has a green dot with a person, you select what workout you are doing (i.e indoor walk, outdoor walk, rowing, swimming etc ) chose a distance goal or calorie goal, or open session and it will track it for you and add the totals to your daily statistics.
3. The seamless transition between the phone and watch: This makes using and customizing the watch so so easy. All you have to do is open the iwatch app on the phone and easily customize what you want on the watch face, what you want on the dock, and how you want your apps organized in your watch. You make a change on your phone and it is instantly applied to the watch. You can view all the workouts you have done as well.
4. Beachbody On Demand: This is so cool! So if you are watching the workout on your phone, apple TV, or ipad and also have the app open on you watch, the calories you are burning and your HR will display on the workout and it will be tracked to add to your daily totals. To me this is awesome. You can do the Beachbody workout and know how much you are burning. Sometimes when you are moving your arms alot or lifting weights it is not as accurate but you can take a second to rest your arm, manually take the HR and then it will catch up.
There are so many ways this is beneficial to my fitness tracking. Another piece that was not predicted is that it is helping me stay motivated to work out. I want to constantly beat my calorie records or other goals I have set. If you are looking for a useful fitness track / smartwatch that also looks good, I would 100% recommend the iwatch.
