Talk About Self Motivation
So let's just list the stack of things against me this morning
1. terrible tightness and soreness in my left calf
2. EXTREMELY cranky
3. I did not sleep well
and finally 4. IT WAS -40 degrees ( later in the day getting to -50)
Yeah, I really really did not want to work out this morning. But I am so happy I did. There were a few moves that I had to alter today because of my calf pain, but I didn't stop moving and I didn't quit. Today I did the "MMA Shred" workout from the Core de Force from Beachbody. This one was more muay thai based. I still loved it. Every move you are twisting and fully rotating your whole body to really "shred" your core. I love learning new moves, new bits and pieces of different fighting styles and I really love shredding my abs and becoming the stronger/fitter person I want to be.
Tonight, for some reason I was STARVING when I came home from work. I tried not to give in to my cravings of bread sticks and Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers and I had some grapes and a small piece of dark chocolate...and two rice cakes. SO while I did end up having a few more calories than I should have today, I felt motivated enough to make sure I didn't give in and call my good old friend Papa John. I think maybe the -50 helped in the fact that I didn't want to get out of the house. Also, I went to fabletics.com and looked at new workout outfits and thought about how I want to look good in them and not have a bread stick tummy.
Sometimes you are enough to keep going strong. and results are better than food craving temporary satisfactions. If all else fails, look at people in workout clothes that you want and it will help you want to get there and not eat the bacon burger.
